2025 Australia Day Awards - Nominations Now Open

Australia Day provides residents with the opportunity to celebrate all that is Australian and acknowledge active citizenship and achievement.
With our limited population and in an effort to make the 2025 Australia Day Awards more special, Barcoo Shire Council is again only awarding one overall award for the shire from worthy nominations received from the community. The nomination categories for community members for 2025 are
- Citizen of the year
- Young citizen of the year
- Volunteer of the year
- Senior sports award
- Junior sports award
- Cultural award
Nominations are now open for the 2025 Barcoo Shire Australia Day awards. Applications close 5pm, 22 November 2024 and must be submitted on the Barcoo Shire Council Australia Day Award Nomination Form.

Windorah Fuel

There is currently no unleaded fuel available in Windorah. The closest retail fuel outlet is Jundah Roadhouse. Council will provide further advice when the circumstances change.
Please note diesel is available at the Windorah Outback Shop.
